Just so you know: COS is spearheading an effort to amend our Constitution that is not being followed now.
COS says we need to change the Constitution. They see the run amok federal government and think we need to change the Constitution. But Article 5 was included because the founders thought they may not be perfect. Thus Article 5 was included to fix faults within the structure of the Constitution, This link is to 26m30s of the video below.
Now COS comes along and wants to change the Constitution to rein in an out-of-control federal government. That's not what Article 5 is about. Article 5 is only there to correct faults.
For sure, the problems we are facing are not because of small faults in the Constitution.
If we were following the Constitution as written, we would not have the problems our nation is facing right now. What we need to look at is reining in constitutional violations. Changing the Constitution does not address this root cause of our problem.
So we should do enforce "The Oath of Office" which is Article VI.
First, this video is a little off track from the discussion in that it doesn't think amending the Constitution is the answer to our problems.
For far too long, Big Government has operated outside of the limitations of the Constitution. As with any rule book, the limitations are only as good as those that are enforced.
The Founding Fathers knew this would happen and brilliantly included provisions in Article VI that we can use to rein in an out-of-control federal government.
Watch as Robert Brown explains how this solution is much better than an Article V Convention, a Convention of States, and a Constitutional Convention.
The Main Argument Against COS
Our country's problem is not the wording of our Constitution or some missing amendment. Our problem is that our public servants are not following the constitution. Now COS comes along and wants to change it to solve our problems. In fact, some have lamented the fact that the Constitution was hindering them from doing something they felt was in the best interests of the country; but really wasn't. If the people we elect to public office and the people they appoint to other offices are not following the Constitution now, what the hell makes people think they will all of a sudden start following it once it's gets "updated". If "We the People" are not holding our public servants feet to the fire to make them follow the Constitution now, I doubt they would act any different after an Article V Con-Con. My opinion is that an Article V Con-Con, is just that, a Con-Job. It's purpose is to be co-opted to destroy our country by altering it's foundational document.
Individual Liberty has always been under attack, since it started to grow. The U.S. Constitution created a Govt who's sole task was to uphold and defend individual liberty for it's people. This had never before happened in the history of the world and to my knowledge hasn't happened since. You would think that constitutions written since the 1780's when our was being adopted would have followed our example and been even better than ours. But I haven't heard of any. In fact one would think the Constitution of the United Nations would be at the pinnacle of securing individual liberty for all of mankind, it having been written in modern times with the example of the US Constitution having stood the test of over a century by then. But alas, it reads more like something written by Karl Marx than it does something written by James Madison and friends and in practice it has actually hurt more people world-wide than it has helped.
Our Constitution isn't perfect, but it is just fine the way it is. All we need is more people reading and understanding it and making sure the people serving in the Govt would adhere to it, especially in the judiciary branch.
Corruption in Govt is the problem we face, not the foundational documents. Corruption seems to be at an all-time high in our Govt and will never completely be eliminated. Now is not the time to open up and let those corrupt people and special interests mess with the one and only document that gives "We the People" the legal standing to keep those corrupt people from going full tyrant on them.
Do not let good intentions and belief in the nice sounding words of others make you naïve to the fact that there are many "dens of vipers" out there just waiting for the chance to gut our constitution and ride rough shod over the God given rights it was designed to protect.
Why States Can’t Prevent A Runaway Convention
The danger of an Article V convention (which made James Madison “tremble”, caused Alexander Hamilton “dread”, and Chief Justice John Jay to say that another convention would impose an “extravagant risque”) is this: the delegates to the convention can run away: instead of proposing amendments to our existing Constitution, they can write a completely new Constitution with a new – and easier – mode of ratification.
The convention lobby implicitly acknowledges this danger when they say State Legislatures should pass “unfaithful delegate” laws to control delegates.

Mark Meckler does not think COS is a Good Idea
There may not be a question more difficult to answer for Mark Meckler, President of Citizens for Self-Governance and spokesman for its Convention of States Project (COS), than this: Since the federal government ignores the Constitution as now written, why would it obey an amended Constitution?

So one of the head guys of COS says it won't work. The last sentences of this article says why, but you have to decide for yourself.
The speeches below are good, but for me this pretty much ends COS.
Proposed New Constitutions.
This presentation was given on April 17, 2017 at the beautiful old Supreme Court Chamber at the Tennessee Capitol Building in Nashville.

Exposing the real agenda behind the push for an Article V
She is Spot On!
And Yes, the following is a JBS (John Birch Society) video. In the past, the Left/Neo-cons demonized the JBS to be Anti-American. But the Left/Neo-cons are the same people, whose coup of our Country just failed. JBS is, if fact, what the media should be and this is the most articulate US Constitution studies I have ever seen.
We Already have the Power
Be aware that the current COS (Convention of the States) movement is a fraud. The following video points this out in great detail. We don't need to change the US Constitution, We need to follow it.
Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature....
We the People have the Power to replace Congress every two years if need be!
We have to get out and talk to others. Explain to them what is going on. And all we have do is Care and explain it to still more folks.
Article V of the Constitution is clear about the two ways to pass amendments. Also clear is what happened in 1787 when the Constitution was written. The convention to amend the Articles of Confederation wrote an entirely new Constitution, which was outside of its scope. Ratification rules were rewritten in order to ensure passage. Are we confident that the Constitution would not be rewritten and ratification rules not thrown out? The John Birch Society stands opposed to calling for a convention, but supports amending the Constitution through Congress.
Change It or Obey It? Why the Constitution is the Solution
The better solution is to obey the Constitution to rein in the federal government, not amend a document that has been ignored. So, unless we turn over a new leaf, learn our Constitution and obey it, renounce unconstitutional federal programs and benefits, and demand that people in Congress also obey it; limiting their terms by an Amendment merely increases the turnover of politicians in Congress who ignore our Constitution – and to whom we must pay luxurious lifetime pensions.
"No matter how careful you are, adding more to law documents can only make them worse"No true constitutionalist believes that the original document can be improved upon with additional alterations. Every real constitutionalist knows that the document has been altered far too much already. The solution is not to alter it further, but rather to unwind some of the past alterations that have served only to undermine the original text and intent. This thanks to News With Views
Better Ways of Changing the Constitution
Nullification is a refusal on the part of your state government to cooperate with or enforce any federal law it deems to be unconstitutional. In fact it is your states duty to not follow unconstitutional laws and regulations. All government personnel take an Oath to uphold the Constitution. The content COS ideas would minimize this power.
Nullification vs. Constitutional Convention
Quoting Article VI: "shall be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution...." in other words -> do the right thing.
Article VI Not V Is the Better Solution to Our Out-Of-Control Government (#Article6not5)
By imposing term limits we'd be eliminating the incentive for good people to continue serving the public to the end. In their last term they'd be free to do as they will, rather than try to remain in office by doing the right thing.
Appointing U.S. Senators
The state governments used to appoint the US Senators. Now, with the 17th amendment, Senators being elected by the population of the state. Repeal the 17th amendment to get back to a Republic type of government.
Regarding recall of the senators, there being no provision for, nor prohibition of recall in the U.S. Constitution, it is covered by the 9th & 10th Amendments. We do have the right to recall senators and representatives, if we just tried it! Summarizing, because of the 9th & 10th Amendments, yes; the states could determine a procedure, codify it as an enactment or amend the state constitution, and recall a U.S. Rep or Senator.
It is interesting to note that Art.I Section 5. Clause 2, says:
