This is my attempt to explain Ayn Rand's philosophy on a single webpage.
Individualism - Belief in the primary importance of the individual and in the virtues of self-reliance and personal independence.
And because of that definition, an individual will be a capitalist.
I SWEAR MY LIFE AND MY LOVE OF IT THAT I WILL NEVER LIVE FOR THE SAKE OF ANOTHER MAN, NOR ASK ANOTHER MAN TO LIVE FOR MINE.
This is the heart of the Atlas Shrugged Philosophy - not slaving yourself. Most do not stand up for themselves and for the productive achievements that they earned. Thereby, indirectly they give moral sanction to those who claimed the right to take their wealth and redistribute it. Understand clearly that all work for their own benefit. And that you not recognize the good of others as a justification for your existence. This is the heart of Rand's message in Atlas shrugged. Individuals are ends in themselves with the right to pursue their own lives, their own happiness and their own well-being. Sacrificing those values to some collective good is not a noble idea. It's the road to hell. Stand up for what is right
Capitalism - free enterprise or private enterprise an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange, characterized by the freedom of capitalists to operate or manage their property for profit in competitive conditions.
Applying the Individual
The Ayn Rand movies or Books are a good guide. The Atlas Shrugged Part III movies describes our current Political turmoil, NOW. Especially the four minute video directly below this. The Orwellian stuff is good, But Ayn Rand has a much better grip on things. Except the book is over 1100 pages long.
The Speech by John Galt
In this short clip Mr. Thompson is a U.S. President that stayed past his term. His centralized planning was not working for the good of the people and the country. This is where John Galt took over the airwaves and gave this speech. It was over 50 pages in the book, but only four minutes in this clip. This is a playlist. I like the second clip the best; it is a summary of the entire Atlas Shrugged III movie in under 4 minutes.
Atlas Shrugged Part III - just the speech and the More
Okay, that is all well and good. Now let's compare Ayn Rand's work with present-day conditions. This is president Trump speaking.
